One of my sisters put IE 7 on my mom's computer and I was at first madder than a hornet. I've had previous experience with it and all of them were negative. But before I rehash any bad memories onto the one that did the work, I'd like to know the opinions of other people. I'm asking this in two locations to get more possible responses.
IE 7. I would like to know pros and cons.?default browser
Cons would be IE7 itself as well as allowing ActiveX which is the biggest security flaw in IE.
  I highly recommend Firefox.
In this review, CNET Prizefight Internet Explorer 7 vs. Firefox 2, Firefox wins in every category.
Firefox is better in every way including, installation woes, look and community, tabbed browsing, cool new features, security and performance. The winner is clearly Firefox 2.
IE 7. I would like to know pros and cons.?microsoft word download internet explorer
I like it... Tab Browsing, integrated Search Engine of you choice, better security, built in POP-UP Blocker. Of course everything Fire Fox has too.
I never really had any bad experiences with it, but I avoid using IE period, because it's known to be more vulnerable than other browsers. I prefer Firefox and Opera, you should check those out.

  Firefox Tuning
Rise up the speed of your Firefox Browser:
Open the configuration menu by typing in the following into the field where you normally fill in the URLs:
  About:config
In the config menu you have to set up the following changes:
  - network.http.pipelining (put “true”)
  - network.http.proxy.pipelining (put “true”)
  - network.http.pipelining.maxrequests put on 100
  - network.http.max-connections 48
  - network.http.max-connections-per-server 16
  - network.http.max-persistent-connections-... 8
  - network.http.max-persistent-connections-... 4
You save the changes by clicking the right button of your mouse somewhere on the screen and choose new -%26gt; integer from the menu. Now you have to write nglayout.initialpaint.delay into the popup and type in number 0 into the next window.
That′s it, now you are able to surf much faster threw the internet with your Firefox browser!

IE 7 is a bit of a system hog, but it's supposed to be compatible with more sites.
I still recommend FireFox 2 (3 should be out soon). FireFox is free and fully customizable.
Both feature tabbed browsing, but it's slightly easier to install Flash for IE than FireFox.
CartoonNetwork and some sites heavily driven by Flash operate better on IE.
FireFox is just a more streamlined experience.
  IE 7 is prettier
  FireFox has skins.
Again, try Fire Fox if you can. Skip IE for everything else.
(If you really need an IE window, FireFox has the "IE Tab" which allows you to use FireFox, but view the page as if it was in IE)
